About Anolis Tech

The anolis lizard survives because it adapts. That's the idea behind the name. Technology moves fast, and the businesses that adapt with it are the ones that pull ahead.

A solution provider, not a salesperson

I don't swoop in and take over, and I don't sell you something just to sell it. You know your business better than anyone. I know technology. The best results come from putting those two things together.

Nothing gets decided before I understand your business and what you actually need. Every engagement starts with listening: what's working, what's not, and where you want to go. From there I map out what needs to happen, in plain language, with clear next steps.

I measure my work by one thing: whether it genuinely helps your business. That's the standard I hold myself to.

How I think about new technology

New tools are powerful, but none of them are a magic bullet. Anything I put in front of you has to fit your real processes and your team's ability to use it, or it just burns money with nothing to show for it.

So I start small and find where a tool genuinely earns its place. Often the best answer is a simple, dependable piece of automation. The goal is always a real, measurable return, not a trend you paid for.

And the newest tools are only one part of what I do. I handle the whole technology picture: your foundations, your accounts and backups, your automation, and the day-to-day decisions in between. Technology is changing faster than ever right now, which is exactly why it's worth having someone who follows it closely. I'm just not here to sell you anything for its own sake.

The tools I build

I use my own internal checklists and tooling to keep the repeatable parts of the work consistent, so every Website Review covers the same ground the same way: speed, how the site reads on every device, how easily customers find it, and the housekeeping details that separate a maintained site from a neglected one. That tooling is used only to prepare my reviews. It is not a product and it is not for sale.

The output is a clear written report in plain language, so a business owner knows exactly what's working, what needs attention, and what to fix first.

Who you're working with

I'm Patrick Dunlap. I've worked with technology since an early age, and what I've always loved about it is that it never stops changing. Most people find constant change unsettling. I find it energizing, and with the way technology is moving right now, this is the most exciting stretch of my whole career. Change is coming for every business whether they want it or not, and I'm someone who genuinely enjoys meeting it head-on. I also think smaller businesses have the most to gain from it. You can move faster than a big company weighed down by old systems, and the right technology now lets you adapt and compete in ways that used to be out of reach.

That curiosity turned into a career. For decades I've been the person responsible for keeping things running, in places where failure simply wasn't an option: the network behind a casino floor, the systems a city government depends on.

When the systems I ran had a bad day, people couldn't call 911, businesses couldn't take payments, services stopped. So I learned to plan for what most people never think about. I moved a 911 dispatch center onto a brand-new phone system while live emergency calls kept coming in, without dropping a single one. When COVID sent everyone home overnight, I rolled out software-based phones to thousands of people in a matter of hours. I've gone through a company's technology spending and cut six figures of waste out of it.

For years I was the outside technology consultant that many businesses turned to for advice and projects, which is exactly what Anolis offers you. Through all of it the thread never changed: companies needed someone who understood the technology deeply, could explain it in plain words, and had been in the room when things went wrong. That's what I bring to a small business now, at a size and price that actually fit you.
